||First time flying in a B717 and it was a great experience.
In terms of flying with AirTran, I can't say enough about this company. They were very accomodating when I had to move my departure from Detroit to Newburgh and upgrading to business class for a this nonstop flight was only $60. The crew aboard my flight were very attentive and made the 2 1/2 hour flight a very enjoyable experience. It was my first time on a 737 and Airtran Airways. It was a fun experince. The seats were really nice and relaxing. Their crew and staff were great. The best part was the XM radio.Despite a massive weather delay in ATL, and in MCO on the return flight, everything went pretty well. We were kept informed as much as possible, and even served drinks while we sat on the ramp waiting to taxi. Flying on a 717 is much like flying on a DC9, only the plane is newer, a little more quiet, and the air smells better. The XM radio is a definite perk when flying this airline. However, be aware that if you're connecting through ATL on a bad weather day, expect long delays and lots of gate changes. Making sure you have seat assignment in advance won't hurt either.
